Primary objective Provide quality advice and support to the Director Corporate Services in the effective and efficient delivery of a range of corporate services functions for the Office of the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption (OICAC). Key duties and responsibilities 1. Assist in the development of corporate policies and procedures as it relates to financial management, governance, risk management and general services for the office. 2. Provide assistance to the Director Corporate Services in the development and monitoring of the office’s budget and reporting on key performance measures. 3. Provide financial services support to the office such as the management of financial systems, reviewing of transactions and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. 4. Assist in the procurement of goods and services as required including obtaining of quotations, tender documentation and assessments and debriefings. 5. Provide secretariat support to the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee and assist in the delivery of its objectives, including the implementation of the office’s internal audit plan. 6. Provide support to the Director Corporate Services in the delivery of other corporate services functions such as records and information management, work health and safety, human resources, and general services. Selection criteria Essential 1. Demonstrated experience in the preparation of financial statements and budget deliverables including knowledge of financial management frameworks. 2. Well-developed skills in the use of computerised systems and databases, including knowledge of financial systems relating to processing of invoices, payments by corporate credit card, and booking official travel. 3. Demonstrated experience in the preparation of quality written documentation including reports, policies, and guidelines. 4. Demonstrated experience in providing high level secretariat support to internal governance committees, or the ability to quickly acquire such skills. 5. Demonstrated ability to work independently in a small team, prioritise commitments and meet critical deadlines while maintaining quality data and reporting standards. 6. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including a commitment to high personal work standards and delivery of client focused services. 7. Ability to engage effectively across cultures to achieve and build sustainable relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including providing training sessions as required. Desirable 1. Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, business or a related field. 2. Knowledge of financial management systems used in the NT Government. 3. Understanding of the role of the OICAC and the NT public sector environment. Further information 1. The recommended applicant will be required to undergo a criminal history check before commencement. A criminal history will not exclude an applicant from this position unless it is a relevant criminal history.
