Senior Systems Engineer

Due to growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our great place to work!

THE ROLE

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for resolving IT infrastructure related escalations from the L1 & L2 technicians. Working closely with clients to provide the best possible outcome and service experience.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful, you must possess the following:

• Proven MSP Experience: At least 3+ years in a Level 3 or Senior Projects role within an MSP environment
• Advanced Networking Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in router hardware/software (VyOS, EdgeOS, UniFi), switch hardware/software (Ubiquiti, Cisco, Arista, HP), routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, EIGRP, etc.), QoS, and firewalls (SDWAN)
• Microsoft Azure Proficiency: Strong experience in deploying or supporting Microsoft Azure environments, including VM, SQL, ADDS, NSG, AVD, Storage, Azure Migrate, and ASR
• Microsoft Ecosystem Mastery: Extensive skills in Microsoft Office 365, Entra ID P2, Intune (MDM/MAM, Apps, Profiles, Compliance, AutoPilot), SharePoint (modern and classic), and Purview (log retention, lifecycle management, investigations)
• Directory Services & Automation: Highly skilled in Active Directory, PowerShell scripting, Group Policy Management, DHCP, DNS, and NPS
• Firewall Expertise: Proven experience with Next-Generation Firewalls such as FortiGate, Sophos, and Meraki
• IT Management Solutions: Experience with PSA, RMM, MDR/EDR, SIEM, and SOAR solutions
• Virtualization Competence: Strong VMware & Hyper-V experience, including setting up, troubleshooting, and migrating virtual environments
• 3rd Level Design & Implementation: Ability to provide comprehensive 3rd level design and implementation with end-to-end ownership, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Backup Technologies: Experience with backup solutions such as Veeam, Datto, and Azure Backup

Desirable Attributes:

• Linux & Containerization: Experience with Linux, WHM/cPanel, and containerization technologies
• Projects: Experience in delivering Essential Eight security solutions, VoIP, SharePoint, and/or other Office 365 projects

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and problem-solve Level 2 & 3 technical faults to identify and diagnose issues logically by either telephone, email, chat, script, remote login or onsite
• Act as an escalation point within the services team
• Act as a mentor to Level 1 and 2 technicians
• Ticket triage according to the ITIL® Framework
• Provide an excellent level of customer service to our internal and external customers by providing the appropriate support response, friendly communication and technical knowledge to achieve positive satisfaction scores
• Participate in the implementation, administration, configuration, documentation, support and enhancement of client infrastructure environment
• Maintain the SLA’s to meet project and ticket deadlines, escalating to other team members as necessary
• Maintain communication with your team leader, effectively communicating any issues or problems that require assistance
• Adherence to process' across all business units working closely with all teams (sales, finance & admin, service teams etc/)
