We are seeking 2 experienced Systems Administrator to join our mining client in Perth for an initial 2-month contract.
The purpose of the Systems Administrator role is to provide level 1 through level 3 support to services, systems and hardware, to add or modify services, systems and hardware, and to act as subject matter expert for all site IT functions.
Role 1: System Administrator (FIFO 8/6 roster)
- Contract initially 2 months + possible extensions
- Rate flexible (market rate)
- Site: Sunrise Dam and Tropicana
- Mining experience ideally
- (8 days on/6 days off, 12-hour days, on-call responsibility, though with a very low after-hours callout rate) requires a high degree of independence
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a broad familiarity (but not necessarily deep knowledge) of PCs, servers (including virtualization) and network to layer 3.
- Duties range from password resets and new PC builds through to some operations-critical fault resolution.
- If the site loses all external comms, the incumbent needs to be able to troubleshoot and, if possible, restore connectivity with no more support than a network engineer via satellite phone.
Role 2: System Administrator (Perth based)
- Contract initially 2 months + possible extensions
- Rate flexible (market rate)
- You need at least enough experience to diagnose a connectivity issue in a complex network environment with ISE, AnyConnect, VPN and other complications.
This is facilitated by:
- Resolving support requests and incidents raised by site staff, or for site systems ( fixing and providing things when asked )
- Resolving failures of site IT infrastructure ( fixing things that may not be visible to users )
- Monitoring and maintaining all site IT infrastructure ( keeping an eye on the network and servers )
- Providing technical advice to site personnel on existing and potential IT systems ( talking IT when people have ideas or issues )
- Identifying, proposing and implementing opportunities to improve service delivery through technical, administrative and procedural initiatives ( continuous improvement )
Role Accountabilities:
- Provide level 1 (helpdesk) through to level 3 (infrastructure) support for all IT systems, either as directed or where required to maintain services uptime.
- This includes all IT systems on site, from desk phones and peripherals through to production-critical infrastructure
- Resolve IT incidents and requests according to KPIs, escalating where necessary and following through to customer satisfaction
- Monitor server/network performance to identify outages and failures, providing site notifications and resolving/escalating through to resolution.
- Manage backup regimes and other routine support and service delivery tasks assigned to site IT.
- Conduct audits, safety checks, security procedures, policy sign-offs and other administrative processes according to procedures
