Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

Ravenswood Gold Pty Ltd is the owner and operator of Ravenswood Gold Mine, located approximately 130kms south of Townsville. The mine is a proven producing asset and has transitioned from underground mining to a large scale, low-cost open pit mining operation.

The Townsville Region in North Queensland, Australia, offers diverse experiences from the awe-inspiring Great Barrier Reef, World Heritage Wet Tropics and the enchanting outback towns of Charters Towers and Ravenswood.

Summary

The Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator is responsible for operational duties including effective and reliable monitoring across the mine site to ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, safety, and service level performance requirements are met. You are to carry out inspections, calibrations, and regular housekeeping and maintenance at the sewage and potable water treatment plants along with maintenance of storage and supply systems assets and equipment checks.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and reactive maintenance.

• Troubleshoot process issues.

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and work after hours if required.

• Ability to communicate with key internal and external stakeholders as required.

• Ability to operate minor plant including lifting equipment (less than three tonne)

• Record water quality and plant operating information on standard reports, capturing significant water quality information for the decision-making process.

• Maintain plant operations and water production.

• Perform minor maintenance and repairs on plumbing systems.

About you

• Demonstrated practical experience and capability in potable water and sewage treatment operations and maintenance.

• Knowledge of key Water Industry quality guidelines and regulatory requirements re: water and sewage treatment processes and drinking water supply systems

• Certificate III Water Industry Operations (NWP30215) or equivalent or higher-essential.

• Current QLD Plumbing Licenses – essential.

• QLD Manual Drivers License

• Mobile equipment tickets e.g., Forklift or Loader under three tonnes

• Minimum 4 years proven sewage treatment plant operational experience.

• Well-developed written, verbal and computer skills

• Ability to follow processes and procedures.

• An understanding of health and safety regulations.

• Observational skills and attention to detail.
