About the Role: Our client is a large Local Council based in Western Sydney who are looking for a Civil Design Project Manager to join the team, initially covering a 12 month mat leave.
The position will be managing State Government funded projects to upgrade the existing road infrastructure to facilitate the developments within the LGA.
Responsibilities: - Oversee project defects management throughout the construction process until the conclusion of the defects liability period.
- Supervise contractors effectively during the construction phase of projects.
- Evaluate the quality of work performed by contractors.
- Ensure that all construction activities are conducted safely.
- Confirm that construction designs comply with established professional practices.
- Achieve all environmental standards in the execution of capital projects.
- Facilitate a thorough handover to relevant user groups and stakeholders, ensuring all operational and WAE documentation is accurately recorded in the Council’s document control systems.
Requirements: - Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in the investigation, survey, design and estimation of engineering projects. particularly major road upgrade projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
