Job Summary
The Project Director will oversee the development and execution of a greenfield mining project from initial feasibility through to construction and commissioning. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in project management, engineering, and operations within the mining industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning and Management: Develop and implement the overall project plan, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. Ensure all project activities are aligned with the company’s strategic goals and regulatory requirements.
• Feasibility Studies: Oversee the completion of detailed feasibility studies, including geological surveys, environmental impact assessments, and technical evaluations. Evaluate and select appropriate mining methods, processing techniques, and infrastructure requirements.
• Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a multidisciplinary project team, including geologists, engineers, environmental scientists, and other professionals. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the project team.
• Stakeholder Management: Engage with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, investors, and contractors. Ensure transparent communication and maintain strong relationships to support project success.
• Budget and Financial Oversight: Develop and manage the project budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial targets. Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Regulatory Compliance and Safety: Ensure the project complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including environmental and safety requirements. Promote a strong safety culture and oversee the implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.
• Construction and Commissioning: Oversee the construction phase, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery of all project components. Manage the commissioning process, ensuring the project meets all operational and performance criteria before transitioning to production.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the mining industry, with a significant portion in project management roles.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale greenfield mining projects.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of mining operations, engineering principles, and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to work in remote locations and adapt to challenging environments.
