Job Description - Project manager

About The Role As a Project Manager within the Future Now Program you will be responsible for managing and delivering key projects that deliver improvements and scalable impact to our members and volunteers. The focus of these projects is to facilitate and manage the delivery of projects through stakeholder engagement from across the business, adhering to budgets, and aligning a project management approach, that is fit for purpose and that achieves the projects desired outcomes. Location: Flexible with a preference for this role to be in Brisbane or Sydney or Melbourne. In This Role You Will

  • Provide full lifecycle services for the effective and efficient delivery of projects and change to agreed business objectives, in line with agreed frameworks, processes and governance expectations
  • Identify, define, engage and collaborate with stakeholders to gather information, requirements, solution options, manage expectations and communicate outcomes
  • Lead discovery, business case and scoping activities for assigned projects, acting in an advisory role to stakeholders to ensure the requirements and solutions are aligned with strategic and project goals
  • Manage risk and issues on projects and take responsibility for facilitating resolution of obstacles that would prevent successful project delivery
  • Construct, communicate and deliver integrated Project plans aligned to business strategy, needs and emerging requirements; that consider sequencing and dependencies across the organisation to deliver the desired outcome
  • Use innovative methods to lead project teams, encouraging a collaborative and results orientated approach to deliver business objectives
  • Manage selection, proposal management and delivery of external vendors required to participate in project delivery to cost, time and quality expectations
  • Drive quality through standard practices to ensure the overall efficiency, functionality and user acceptance of solution and delivery outcomes
  • Develop training materials to transfer business knowledge from Subject Matter Experts to support teams and build knowledge repository for developing Business Acumen
  • Deliver continuous improvement through analysis, actively seeking feedback and review of delivered solutions
  • Manage project budgets accurately to incorporate funding approvals, invoices from vendors and forecasts
  • Lead and facilitate workshops with stakeholders within the business to extract business process information and understand current ways of working
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing ways of working with tenacity and whole of team focus

  • Can demonstrate project management skills through your experience delivering projects of change to agreed business objectives, that are in line with agreed frameworks, processes and governance expectations
  • Customer centricity and outcomes focus;
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, able to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage a wide range of responsibilities
  • A proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude with the ability to multi-task and produce accurate work across multiple and competing deadlines; utilising creative methods and leveraging the skills of multi-discipline teams
  • Demonstrated ability to meet project deadlines, managing competing priorities in a calm, efficient and effective way;
  • Exposure to negotiations and management of conflict across multiple stakeholders at all levels of management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision (orally, written and presentational) with proven facilitation, influencing, negotiation and strong analytical, problem-solving skills and business acumen
  • Conversant using contemporary project management tools and techniques to perform schedule quality checks, and critical pathway analysis
  • Genuine desire to build and foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to forge and maintain productive working relationships, with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internally and external, including the ability to use influence to support collaboration
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, deal with ambiguity and make clear and decisive decisions to effect successful outcomes
  • Understands the importance and demonstrates active Risk Management practice
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently, and collaboratively, in a team environment;
