Security Engineer - Infrastructure

Our client, one of the promising managed IT services in Sydney is looking for a Security Engineer- Infrastructure to join their team.The Security Engineer – Infrastructure is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network and IT infrastructure and systems. Working closely with the Information Security team and other departments, you will identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities, ensure compliance with security standards and regulations, and provide ongoing support for security-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess IT business initiatives and provide information security risk advice to clients.
• Design and implement secure network infrastructure, including firewalls and VPNs.
• Monitor and analyze network traffic for potential security threats.
• Perform security assessments to identify and address weaknesses.
• Implement and maintain security policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Information Security team to develop security standards.
• Provide technical support on security-related issues.
• Review software solutions to ensure compliance with security standards.
• Lead or support cyber security threat hunting and incident response.
• Stay updated with the latest security technologies and best practices.

Qualifications:
Desirable qualifications include security vendor certifications (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet) and industry qualifications (e.g., CISSP). Experience in cyber security, Active Directory security, and designing ICT security policies is preferred.
Skills:
High-level technical and analytical skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude are essential.
