The Company

We have a new opportunity for a senior lawyer with significant professional indemnity experience to join a growing national insurance firm that has an incorporated legal practice. The successful candidate will enjoy a flexible working environment with no billables, spreadsheets or BD and the benefit of working alongside top-tier lawyers in a high-performance environment.

This role reports directly to the Director, Legal and will be advising across a range of industries including engineering, property, real estate, IT, accounting, and professional services.

Core Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to a wide range of industries, including but not limited to, the construction, real estate and property sector through to IT professionals, architects and professional services
  
  
• Be responsible for and have carriage of your own files, with support and appropriate supervision from the national team and Directors
  
  
• Undertake a small amount of public liability claims work (approx. 10% of the role)

The Successful Candidate

• Law degree with strong academics
  
  
• Values-led legal professional with 4-8 years’ post qualification experience
  
  
• Knowledge of insurance law with significant professional indemnity experience from a reputable law firm
  
  
• Background in defendant insurance litigation ideally with professional indemnity experience though other areas will be considered and training provided
  
  
• Commercially astute with a genuine interest in building a successful career in professional indemnity
  
  
• Strong client relationship skills and understands the importance of providing technically excellent advice
  
  
• Self motivated and enjoys working on matters from end to end
  
  
• Team player who appreciates the importance of collegiality and mentoring of more junior lawyers
