Senior Project Manager – Bendigo Water Reclamation Plant Upgrade – Stage 1 Salary: $112,904 to $129,042 commensurate with experience Job Type: Full-time 3 Year Fixed Term Location: Bendigo Looking for a role where your project management skills can support your community? It’s been 100 years since we began treating the wastewater from sinks, toilets and drains at the Bendigo and Castlemaine Water Reclamation Plants. Fast forward a century, and we have big plans to ensure these critical pieces of infrastructure continue to underpin our community’s health, and support growth and success for the future. To help us, we’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the Bendigo Water Reclamation Plant (WRP) team to help us to deliver an integrated, sustainable, reliable, and future proofed wastewater treatment infrastructure for the Bendigo township. This role is focussed on phase one of this program which is to deliver the upgrade of on-site facilities to better manage the final by-product of sewage treatment, biosolids. This role is vital to the success of the program. You’ll be responsible for managing the construction project while at the same time working with the operations team to ensure the plant continues to operate safely and efficiently. You’ll know how to get the best out of your team, including external contractors and you will have a sound knowledge of local constructions standards and regulations. A snapshot of the role Leading the tender review and negotiation process to award a Design and Construction Contract
Leading the detailed design review and approval process
Leading the project team, including internal and external resources
Ensuring projects deadlines are met
Ensuring that the project scope is delivered within the approved project budget
Managing relationships with clients and stakeholders
Identify and mitigate project risks
Implementing Quality Assurance practices throughout delivery of the project Ours is a tight-knit team with a great culture. First and foremost, we’re looking for someone who is the right fit. The successful candidate will have at least five years of proven experience in managing construction projects, preferably across wastewater along with demonstrated leadership skills. A tertiary degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a similar field is required. You’ll be excellent communicator, have a strong work ethic, won’t be afraid of a deadline, and will be keen to grow your career in an organisation doing work that matters to its community.
