Job Description - Snr Research and Evaluation Officer

About Redkite:

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, it affects the whole family. In the daunting and unpredictable experience that follows diagnosis, a child needs as much stability and support from their family as possible. Redkite is a lifeline for families, providing real emotional, financial and practical support. Because holding it together when your child’s life is in question can feel impossible.

The role:

The focus of this role is to support research, monitoring and evaluation activities that support Redkite to measure its outcomes and impact, improve the quality of its services and drive evidence to practice. This role will also support Redkite’s advocacy and thought leadership work in the sector and coordinate research activities with families that have a lived experience of childhood cancer.

About you:

The position is ideal for a highly competent senior Research & Evaluation Officer looking to make a meaningful difference. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following skills & experience:

• Strong quantitative skills, including comfort with a range of statistical analysis techniques / platforms (e.g., Tableau, SPSS, Socialsuite), and capacity to transfer knowledge and expertise.

• Skills and experience in using a range of outcomes and impact measurement approaches and techniques.

• Experience using a range of qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation methods and capacity to coach and advise staff in their appropriate use.

• Ability to develop and oversee research to identify practice and service development needs (including focus groups, interviews, surveys).

• Experience in managing research or evaluation projects involving external partners and/or consultants.

• Ability to commission and oversee critical, systematic and rapid reviews of relevant information including academic research, grey literature, practice and policy documents and the synthesis of those reviews.

• Demonstrated ability to develop strategic, productive and constructive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Experience presenting research and evaluation findings in a range of forums (including conferences, board and executive meetings, practice meetings and training events) to a wide range of stakeholders.
