About Your New Branch The Engineering, Design and Standards Branch is responsible for infrastructure engineering, design, survey, specifications, asset standards, electrical infrastructure and contributed assets across all customer and community facing infrastructure classes. The branch delivers approximately 800 projects each year. Projects include community facilities, roads and rehab, foreshores, bridges, footpaths, landscaping, parks, stormwater, and drainage. About Your New Role We are seeking to appoint Surveyor’s to undertake survey projects of a minor, moderately complex, complex and multi-disciplinary nature for our exciting projects on the Gold Coast. You will complete engineering surveys using sound project management methodology, surveys for set out of construction worksand capture as constructed survey data, complying with legislative requirements and delivered in accordance with customer expectations. Key Deliverables of the position
  • Provide technical advice where appropriate to key stakeholders, relevant to the level of the role
  • Apply applicable legislation, by-laws, City of Gold Coast policies and procedures in surveying practices
  • Undertake administrative duties pertinent to survey operations
  • Develop and maintain open and transparent working relationships between internal and external customers
What you bring to your new role
  • You hold a Bachelor Degree of Spatial Science or equivalent knowledge.
  • You can consult with a range of people and display sound written, interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • You can work within a team, undertake surveying activities, set realistic goals and work priorities to ensure deadline and commitments are met.
  • You can rapidly acquire knowledge of policies, procedures, systems and legislation relevant to surveying.
  • You will have a sharp eye for detail and precision
  • You hold a current ‘C’ Class Driver Licence
  • You hold a WHS Licence General Construction Induction (White Card) – desirable not essential.
