Job Description - Mechanical Engineer

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Building Services Location: Sydney, NSW Job Type: Full-time Reports To: Engineering Manager Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer - Building Services to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities: Design and Development: Develop mechanical designs from concept through to production. Create detailed CAD models and engineering drawings. Perform simulations and analysis to validate designs. Testing and Prototyping: Build and test prototypes, iterating designs based on test results. Conduct performance, reliability, and durability testing. Project Management: Manage project timelines and deliverables. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers. Documentation and Compliance: Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, and reports. Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Experience: 2+ years of experience in mechanical design and development. Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and materials science. Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software. Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection molding, and 3D printing. Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
