Rehab Ward – 34 beds

$39.72 - $55.63/hr plus 11% super

About the role

Brisbane Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team on a full time, fixed term basis for 12 months.  In this fast paced and varied environment you will take pride in your work, have a friendly and positive work attitude and a commitment to customer satisfaction.  

About us

Brisbane Private is a 181-bed acute and rehabilitation hospital with 15 operating theatres and 2 more to be opened in April 2024, conveniently located above the Roma Street Parklands. Specialties include neurosurgery, orthopaedics, spinal, plastics, urology, ENT, general surgery, Rehabilitation and delivery of Brisbane’s leading private drug and alcohol programs from Damascus Health Services. 

As an Occupational Therapist your responsibilities will include:

·You will plan, assess, implement and evaluate clinical care in collaboration with patients/families and the multidisciplinary team so as to achieve identified goals and health outcomes. The Occupational Therapist will contribute to the coordination of clinical care whilst working in partnership with the allied health team, therapy assistants, nursing and non-clinical staff providing direct and indirect clinical input, direction and guidance

·Incorporate the provision of education and support to patients and their carer/family for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation, discharge plans or end of life needs

·Commit to an ongoing learning and professional development portfolio to ensure case mix requirements are supported and registration requirements are met 

Essential Criteria:

Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency

Minimum 1 year experience

Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy

Skills, knowledge and clinical reasoning in occupational therapy with experience and demonstrated competency in (including FIM accreditation), geriatrics, general medical, post general surgical and neurological

Excellent time management, communication and organisation skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
