The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Accountant to join the growing Finance and Accounting team of an international hotel owner-operator in Perth's hospitality market. The ideal candidate will need to have experience in the hospitality industry, specifically within Hotel and/or Serviced Apartments.
Responsibilities
As part of the team as an Accountant , you'll work closely with the Finance Manager and team members to ensure all statutory and management reporting requirements are met. Your day-to-day will involve (but won't be limited to):
- Month-End Close : You'll be responsible for ensuring accurate recording of transactions, timely book closing, and complete and accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
- Fixed Asset Management : The Fixed Asset Register will be your domain, ensuring assets are depreciated according to their useful life.
- Financial Safeguarding : You'll play a key role in establishing strong internal controls to protect company assets and financial data integrity.
- Reporting Rockstar : Assisting with statutory reporting (financial and tax compliance) is a key responsibility. You'll liaise with external auditors and the Financial Reporting Manager to ensure smooth sailing.
- Business Unit Reporting Guru : Get ready to prepare monthly business unit reports, including financial forecasts, variance analysis, and performance reports to support strategic planning.
- Budgeting Guru : Working collaboratively with the operations team, you'll help develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts.
- Cash Flow Champion : Get ready to prepare cash flow forecasts, including projections, working capital management, and optimizing the use of available funds.
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant educational background in Finance and Accounting. CA/CPA in a plus!
- At least 3 - 8 years professional accounting experience in Perth's hospitality industry, specifically hotel stays or serviced apartment type of accommodation.
- Strong understanding of Australia's financial principles, regulations, and reporting standards.
- Thrives in a collaborative environment and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Has intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
- Bonus points: Experience with NetSuite is a plus!
