Education & Care Practitioners

Lady Gowrie is seeking an Education and Care Practitioner for our Uni North Early Education and Care Service in Launceston, Tasmania. Lady Gowrie is a non-for-profit community-based organisation providing Education and Care to children from birth to 5 years of age.

Role: Education & Care Practitioners

Locations: University North, Launceston

Employment Type: Part-time, 24-34 hours per week.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our University North Early Education and Care Service is licenced for up to 87 children between birth to 5 years of age across 5 rooms.

The service has free all-day parking nearby, is close to public transport, and is just a 5-minute drive to shops and cafes for your lunch break.

As part of the role, you will:

  • Develop and implement exciting educational programs for children to spark wonder, investigation, connections, and possibilities!
  • Interact with and supervise children.
  • Ensure a safe environment for children and your team.
  • Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with our families.
  • Regularly undertake and document observations on learning and development.
  • Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development, by accessing professional learning opportunities.
  • Always work within the centre/service policies and procedures

ABOUT YOU

  • Hold a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care; or
  • A Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care; or
  • Be Working Towards a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education & Care
  • Demonstrate an understanding and knowledge of the National Quality Framework.
  • Work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Value and understand the importance of family communications.
  • Have Strong, respectful, and open communication skills.
  • Working with Vulnerable People Registration (Child Related Activity)
  • Police Check
