PRIMARY DETAIL We seek an experienced Learning Designer to provide operational teaching and learning support to academic staff across a wide variety of discipline areas to ensure quality of the student experience and their graduate outcomes.

THE ROLE

  • Salary Package:  From $99,739 – 108,139 p.a.(pro-rata) (HEW 7), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading

  • Appointment Type: Part-time (0.7 FTE), continuing position

  • Location: Macquarie University (North Ryde)

We seek an experienced Learning Designer to provide operational teaching and learning support to academic staff across a wide variety of discipline areas to ensure quality of the student experience and their graduate outcomes.

Reporting to the Educational Development, Governance and Initiatives Manager and working with other learning designers, education production specialists and learning management systems colleagues, to provide specialist advice and support to academic staff to enable the successful delivery of the Faculty’s new and existing educational products.. This role will develop technology-enhanced learning solutions to enable blended, face to face, and online teaching and learning, and ensure continuous curriculum innovation and best practice across the Faculty’s educational product suite, as well as fostering positive relationships with internal stakeholders and communities of practice across the university.

About You

You will have an exceptional knowledge of adult learning principles including online and blended learning pedagogies and p roven expertise in the design, preparation and implementation of education products using content management systems and/or web-based platforms. Your knowledge of learning management systems, project management principles and methodologies and demonstrated experience working with a wide range of stakeholders in an educational environment will ensure your success in this role. Experience in a higher education environment and experience with Moodle as a learning management system would be highly regarded.

  • Tertiary qualification (including Post-Graduate) in learning technologies and/or equivalent experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of current adult learning principles (including online/blended learning pedagogies)

  • Demonstrated experience with the design, preparation and implementation of education products/ programs using web-based platforms and/or content management systems

  • Time management and organisational skills, and experience coordinating and delivering on competing deadlines

  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders

  • Evidence of contribution to a service culture which drives and encourages collaboration, continuous improvement and agility.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of institutional LMS, with evidence of experience working with a wide range of web-based applications (relevant to educational environment )
