We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Management Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial analysis and support to the management team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and developing and implementing financial strategies to drive business growth.

Who we are looking for:

Reporting to the CEO, this role will provide high level financial and business guidance being responsible for all accounting operations. Accountable for all month-end financial activities, including month-end and year-end process, financial reporting as well as all ATO requirements. This role will contribute to the future growth and profitability of Home Support Association Inc by analysing key financial information and investigating opportunities and implementing fiscal strategies to reduce operational costs while supporting the growth of the business.

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Developing, maintaining and reviewing the management reporting requirements for HSA, ensuring systems are established to provide appropriate costing and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and management team to assist in the development and implementation of strategies, plans and policies.
  • Liaise with a range of staff to provide support and end user training to those involved in budget and forecasting processes to ensure the appropriate timelines are met.
  • Monitor the organisation’s fiscal capacity and financial position, identifying opportunities and threats.
  • Participate in and actively contribute to strategic planning events, training events, annual performance review procedures, and other professional development opportunities to support a high level of professional outcomes.
  • Liaise with the Association’s auditor as required to ensure accountable, legal and ethical financial practices can be clearly demonstrated.

What you need:

  • A member of a professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or CA ANZ.
  • Tertiary qualifications and extensive post graduate experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or a combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
  • Ability to identify, research and analyse, diverse, critical and developing issues at the strategic level while developing strategies, recommendations and alternatives in respect to the issues.
  • Detailed knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of statutory requirements applicable to HSA as well as policy, programs, guidelines, procedures and practices of both HSA Inc and applicable external bodies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others in achieving outcomes and working effectively with all stakeholders to ensure accurate and relevant information is provided to the management team and relevant stakeholders.
  • Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence
  • Ability to acquire a Working with Children check (blue card) and NDIS Worker Screening check (yellow card) prior to commencing.
