The staff and students enjoy events such as annual athletics carnivals, lap-a-thons, and Winter Lightning Carnivals, to name a few. The School has a long history of sporting success, and the students are committed to excelling in this field.As a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic teacher, you should consistently promote Physical Education and Health within the school and will be responsible for the coordination and organisation of school sporting events.To be suitable for the role you will ideally be student focussed, energetic and committed to engaging students. You should be highly collaborative and engage in co-planning and shared moderation and assessment with your colleague Physical Education specialist. You will ideally be keen to support student engagement in carnivals and Physical Education events.The successful applicant should be well practiced in managing and engaging students fully in Physical Education classes at all year levels from Pre-Primary to Year Six. The suitable applicant will ideally be reflective and regularly assess their teaching practices and programs and engage in school-based improvement strategies such as peer observations.Currambine PS is a level six primary school located in the northern suburbs of Perth with an enrolment of 790 students. The school was opened in 1997 and is close to a wide range of community services and resources including public transport. Currambine Primary School staff work as a dedicated team; collaborating in professional learning communities to deliver learning programs consistent with well-defined whole school approaches to pedagogy, assessment, and content management. The school staff have a ‘can do’ approach to continuous improvement and problem solving and pride themselves on ensuring each child in our care is supported to reach their potential in an inclusive, engaging, and positive environment.The School will consider a tandem arrangement for this role, should it meet the business needs of the School. The position is being advertised with the possibility of extension in 2025.This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy.
