Job Description
What you will be doing:
- Ensuring the guest experience is memorable and positive through the maintenance of the hotel facilities
- Plan and carry out preventive maintenance throughout the hotel
- Manage complex projects to deliver a high standard product and service
- Responsible for the overall energy management and conservation of the hotel
- Manage the engagement of contractors within the hotel, ensuring work is to standard, to manufacturers specification, in line with legislative requirements and completed within budget and on time
- Routine management of fire alarms and emergency lighting
- Chief Warden responsibilities
- Assisting hotel management with emergencies and maintenance issues and incidents
- Prioritise and respond to daily maintenance requests to ensure the smooth running of the hotel
- Ensure all team members are competent in the safe and effective use of equipment and chemicals
- Actively participate in activities to support the Accor and Sofitel Risk Management program
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
- Experience in a similar maintenance or facilities management role, within a hotel would be highly advantageous
- A qualified and practical engineer with understanding of all aspects of hotel maintenance, including WHS, contractor management, plant & equipment management
- Demonstrated ability in managing a team effectively
- Self-motivated, problem solver, well organised
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work according to operational requirements and demands, which may include early, late and weekend shifts
