Job Description - Marketing and Cultural Manager

THE BRAND - LAWSON FLATS

From the team behind the State Buildings Lawson Flats is a new kind of membership-based social club spanning three floors in one of the city’s last remaining Art Deco jewels.

Opening in February last year, Lawson Flats is equal parts health and hedonism. Our member community has access to a collection of rooms fit for work, life, and play with co-working spaces, karaoke and listening rooms, an art gallery, movement studios, and Luis’ bar and kitchen at its heart.

Position Purpose:

As a key member of the Lawson Flats senior leadership team, the Marketing and Partnership Manager is responsible the club’s marketing and communication efforts as well as crafting unforgettable experiences for our members and the public alike through cultural programming, hospitality events, brand partnerships and more. The role requires a strategic thinker with their finger on the pulse, a keen eye for hospitality and the ability to throw unforgettable parties….all in the service of our club’s mission to ‘connect our members with their desires.'

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to enhance the club's visibility, attract new members, drive visitation and revenue and generally serve the club’s business objectives.
  • Communication, Brand and Content: Deploy the marketing strategy and drive engagement across web, social media, print and publicity. Create content and concepts that are on-brand that captivate members and the public alike.
  • Programming: Curate an unmissable calendar of events. Think everything from live-music to bookclubs, from workshops to pool-competitions, from long-table-dinners to philosophy-courses, from gala-balls to book-launches, from caviar-tastings to exhibition-openings and from chef-collabs to (insert your amazing idea here).
  • Partnerships: Foster and nurture partnerships with brand-aligned organisations and institutions in order to develop content, share audiences and generally serve the club’s business objectives.
  • Event Management: Oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, from logistics and scheduling to artist liaison. Ensure seamless coordination of events, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and hospitality. Being a strong host and welcoming point of contact for our artists and members during events.
  • Budget Management: Effectively manage the marketing and events calendar to budget. Ensure optimal utilization of resources while adhering to financial guidelines and objectives.
  • Leadership and cross-team collaboration: Lead and mentor the in-house event coordinator, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful implementation of event initiatives. Collaborate with the concierge and restaurant team to ensure smooth communication and execution of Marketing strategies and cultural events: Foster a collaborative and cohesive team environment focused on delivering exceptional member experiences.

KEY SKILLS:

• Proven experience in marketing, event management, and cultural programming, good experience within the hospitality (luxury) and/or entertainment industry.

• Strong creativity and vision, with the ability to conceptualize and execute innovative marketing campaigns and cultural events.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural flair for building relationships and engaging with diverse stakeholders.

• Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing tools, with a keen understanding of emerging trends and technologies.

• Leadership qualities, including the ability to inspire and motivate team members towards shared goals and objectives.
