Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Accountable for the management of the restaurant on a day to day basis, both front and back of house, ensuring that the correct standards and results are in place if not; to take corrective action. Overall Operations Management: You will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth functioning and efficient service delivery.
Financial Management: You will oversee financial aspects such as budgeting, cost control, and monitoring sales and expenses. This includes analyzing financial reports, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing measures to maximize profitability.
To maintain staff discipline and take necessary action where appropriate, follow company procedures.
To ensure staff and management appraisals and ongoing training are completed to time and in compliance both with relevant legislation and company procedures. to also ensure that development solutions are in place as appropriate
Staff Management: You will hire, train, and supervise staff members, including chefs, waiters, and kitchen staff. You will schedule shifts, organize training programs, and ensure that the team is motivated and working effectively.
To ensure all company policies, procedures and standards are adhered to and that the restaurant operates within all relevant employment legislation and to implement and communicate any changes in the law as they occur
To take full accountability for coaching and developing junior managers, seek into a constantly improve their knowledge and abilities. also to take a role in communicating with the team through staff briefings
To actively manage throughout the restaurant company standards of food quality, hygiene, health and safety and customer service ensuring that customers have a consistent and enjoyable experience

Health and Safety Compliance: Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations is vital. You will maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, conduct regular inspections, and train staff on safe food handling practices.
Marketing and Promotion: Implementing marketing strategies to attract customers and increase revenue is part of your role. This includes utilizing various channels like social media, advertising, and partnerships to promote the restaurant.
Business Development: You will identify opportunities for business growth, such as expanding the customer base, introducing new services, or exploring catering or delivery options. You may also engage in networking and building relationships with potential clients or partners.
Complance with Regulations: Staying updated on relevant industry regulations, licensing requirements, and employment laws is essential. You will ensure the restaurant operates in compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations.
Crisis Management: In times of unexpected events or emergencies, you will be responsible for effectively managing crises, ensuring the safety of staff and customers, and minimizing any potential damage to the business.
Essential Skills
Superior leadership and customer service skills
Enthusiasm and commitment towards the business and the service industry
Previous experience at a supervisory level
Previous experience within a catering environment
Knowledge of the weekly accounts and wages processes
An understanding of trial balances and profit and loss accounts and how to increase profitability through budgeting
An thorough understanding of health and safety, food hygiene, licensing and employment law
Effective planning and organisational skills
