Job Description - Sous Chef Greca

Greca is looking for an experienced Sous Chef to join our team. We are looking for industry professionals who take the job seriously, love cooking delicious food and can have some fun along the way.

The Role

Working with our Head Chef, you’ll be an integral part of ensuring Greca's reputation is upheld. As an established operator, Greca is renowned for delivering Mediterranean cuisine along the Brisbane River, at the Howard Smith Wharfs precinct for the past 5 years. As the Sous, you’ll be pivotal in building upon this success. Working alongside the Head Chef, you will have oversight of all aspects of the business including menu execution and financial management. You will lead and train new staff in the kitchen techniques and kitchen procedures as well as monitor junior staff as required.

Ideally, we are looking for someone that:

  • Is passionate about cooking, good food, quality ingredients and running kitchens
  • Is outgoing and flexible
  • Possesses a high level of attention to detail
  • Has a proven track record of managing the team in a calm, positive and constructive manner
  • Has four years of experience working in similar restaurants or quality high-volume pubs
  • Is organised, responsible and hands-on in the kitchen

Experience / qualifications

  • Relevant Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma; or
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience

The Venue

Greca is a beloved contemporary Greek taverna serving memorable food for modern tastes. With the generous spirit of Mediterranean hospitality, we have been serving the Brisbane locals since 2018.

The Group

Our family of restaurants include, The Apollo and Cho Cho San in Sydney, The Apollo Ginza in Tokyo, and Yoko Dining in Brisbane. Our company values are based on a modern outlook to hospitality, based on respect and clear, friendly communication. Our aim is to cook great food that is tasty, consistent and exceeds expectations.

This position is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week.
