You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive range of pharmacy services to outpatients and inpatients to ensure the quality use of medicines within the hospital setting. This includes dispensing, drug distribution, manufacturing, clinical pharmacy services, outpatient services, drug information, education and research.This is an exciting opportunity to further enhance your career in an ever-evolving multidisciplinary team environment. We are a forward-thinking Pharmacy Department, seizing opportunities for change, growth and improvement in patient this role, you’ll:Provide efficient clinical pharmacy services to inpatients or outpatients as part of the rotational rosterConduct pharmaceutical admission and discharge reconciliations, monitor medication outcomes such, as therapeutic drug monitoring, to ensure quality use of medicine is upheldWork cooperatively and effectively within a multidisciplinary team and provide advice regarding patient careMentoring and clinical supervision of pharmacy students, interns, SHPA/ANZAC foundational residents and other pharmacy team membersContribute and participate in training and educational sessions for pharmacy, nursing, medical staff and allied health professionalsSupport the quality use of medicines by participating in projects, audits, working groups or committees as requiredContribute to our 7-day roster, including flexible hours, on-call service and reduced weekend and public holiday servicesWho are we?About the hospital:Opened in 2018, the 488-bed Northern Beaches Hospital provides care to both public and private inpatients and has outpatient services such as dialysis and cancer care. The hospital has a 50-bed Emergency Department, 20-bed ICU, 14 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter labs, and 4 procedural rooms and provides a comprehensive range of surgical services, critical care and intensive care services. The hospital also has Maternity, Paediatric, General medicine, and Geriatrics, Cardiology, Respiratory, Haematology, Oncology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Mental Health and Infectious disease services.About the TEAM:The offices and main dispensary for Epic Pharmacy Northern Beaches are situated in the foyer of the hospital and employ a team of more than 50, including pharmacists, interns, residents and technicians. Our team is split between operational (dispensary, oncology) and clinical services to ensure our patients receive exceptional clinical service across all wards of the hospital.
