Job Description - Psychologist - Wondakka Community Rehabilitation Centre

  • Northern Adelaide Local Health Network – Northern Mental Health – Elizabeth East
  • Salary: $86,950 - $100,729 p.a. (pro rata) – AHP2 - Temporary Part-Time – working 18.75 hours per week, up until 1 May 2025

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Psychologist within Mental Health Services.

In this role you will work within a multi-disciplinary team and provide specialist advice, assistance, and consultancy services to the Wondakka Community Rehabilitation Centre (CRC) staff.

Psychologists conduct assessments and intervention, for consumers presenting with complex mental health conditions. Assessments may involve formal cognitive testing, therapy readiness assessment, DBT therapy assessments. NALHN Neuropsychologists support Psychologists by providing specialist neuropsychological assessments from which the Psychologist can develop recommendations, interventions and plans for supporting staff in caring for consumers of Wondakka CRC.

Interventions involve but are not limited to Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, trauma-related therapies (EMDR, CPT, PL), and Schema therapy and Narrative approaches. Group work is another primary intervention modality (e.g., Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Psychosis).

Training and supervision in the use of a range of assessments and therapies is provided on an ongoing basis. Targeted supervision by specialist clinicians within NALHN is available.

In this role you may be delegated to provide orientation, supervision and support to staff, provisional psychologists and volunteers. Contributing to the development of service aims and objectives and participating in the development and maintenance of relationships with key partners in government and non-government services in a key component of this role.

Psychologists contribute to research and evaluation of psychological practice and promote new information and development in the field of psychology.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold an appropriate degree (Master of Clinical Psychology) or equivalent qualification as recognised by the PsyBA. You must hold general registration with the PsyBA.
