Job Description - Registered nurse clinical research

Employment Type : Permanent Part Time Position Classification : Registered Nurse Remuneration : $35.32 - $49.60 per hour Hours Per Week : 24 Requisition ID : REQ486830 Applications Close: 21 May 2024 What You'll Be Doing The Registered Nurse is responsible for :

  • The provision of person centred, quality care to clinical trial patients;
  • Coordinating and effectively managing a cancer clinical trial portfolio.
  • Providing the highest standard of nursing care, education, advice and support to cancer clinical trial patients.
  • Ensuring the conduct of clinical trials is in accordance with relevant clinical trial regulations and guidelines (incl ICH GCP, TGA Note for Guidance on GCP and NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving humans).
  • Set up and manage clinical trial documentation, patient recruitment, assessment and planning of patient care in accordance with the trial protocol and regulatory/ institutional guidelines.
  • Data management activities including source data entry, clinical data extraction and transcription of data to a variety of trial databases.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Working in therapeutic and professional relationships with individuals, as well as families, groups and communities.
  • Assisting in the provision of supervision and support for less experienced staff and maintaining professional accountability and development in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia’s Standards of Practice.

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
  • Recent clinical experience in a health care setting or clinical trial role, with an interest in Medical Oncology, Haematology and/or Radiation Oncology.
  • Demonstrated commitment to person centred care and NSW Health Core Values.
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems.
  • Venepuncture and cannulation skills, or desire to work toward same.
