JOB SNAPSHOT

We are seeking an intellectually curious and entrepreneurial sales development professional to cultivate new business opportunities through thoughtful selling initiatives. As New Moon Australia’s first New Business Development hire, you will work closely with the Client Services Director, and CEO to drive sales and new account development with prospective clients and partners. You will help design and execute against New Moon’s Business Development strategy, from prospect identification to close and scale-up and also play a key role across New Moon’s commercial activities. This is for the self-driven and strategically minded, who have an interest in catalysing the continued growth of a next-gen agency.

In more standard terms, you’d say that winning and developing new opportunities, client satisfaction and measurable growth is what drives you.

Day to Day:

  • Build a new business strategy working closely with our Client Services Director, CEO and Head of Cultural Intelligence including: networking/warm intros, 1:1 email/phone outreach, social selling, and marketing campaigns to drive new leads
  • Own the end-to-end consultative BD process, from initial pitch to onboarding
  • Lead outbound prospecting for new business, conduct research on prospective clients, competitor activity, and industry/market news
  • Lead the marketing of New Moon’s thought leadership content across owned channels, thought leadership events and broader experiences to increase the agency’s discoverability
  • Curate detailed prospecting lists to target verticals and brands, identify the needs of prospective partners, what makes them “tick”, and work with leadership to create tailored BD strategies, accordingly
  • Spearhead BD team meetings with creative and account teams, create Lead Briefs for key prospecting initiatives
  • Own a seamless RFP process from start to finish, create compelling customised pitch decks and business development presentations that demonstrate that prospective clients have been “heard” on all levels
  • In collaboration with the GM and CEO, lead indelible new business pitches to prospective clients, follow up and close.
  • In partnership with Accounts, Finance and Ops teams, manage seamless onboarding for new clients

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

For the Business Development Director role, your experience should show a trajectory of personal and professional growth, with a successful track record of owning and executing complex, consultative deals.

While having worked on the client or brand side will be highly regarded, your career experience includes working in an agency environment, whether that’s creative, experiential, marketing or advertising, which has given you a robust understanding of agency processes, from briefs and pitches right through to the tracking workflow and the effective management of deliverables.

KEY DETAILS

Location : This role is based in SYD. This role does require facetime with potential clients, team members and stakeholders and as such is not a remote or at-large position.

Working : Initially 3 days per week in the office (Tues-Thurs), with Mondays and Fridays WFH.
