Job Description - Hozpitality - Banqueting Team Leader

The position is based in Accor's flagship Canberra hotel, Novotel Canberra conveniently based in the city centre opposite the light rail. We are a 286 room hotel with 8 conferencing and event facilities hosting all events from Corporate groups to sports teams. Job Description Contributing to an exceptional guest experience by ensuring smooth operations to our banqueting guests. You'll have an eye for detail and be a strong communicator ensuring collaboration between relevant operational departments. Duties include:

  • Set conference rooms promptly and accurately to the specifications described on the function sheets.
  • Handle all conference equipment with care to minimise possible breakages and personal injury.
  • Take responsibility for your designated rooms or sections.
  • Ensure all Food & Beverage requirements are delivered on time and as specified.
  • Provide Food & Beverage service to the required service standards.
  • Ensure that the coffee machines on the floor, along with the standard tea/coffee setup, are always refreshed and ready for service.
  • Assist with any additional guest requests and requirements (e.g. photocopying, parking vouchers, delivery of boxes etc).
  • Ensure that electronic signage displays accurate information.
  • Keep the Director or Culinary and Conference & Events Coordinator up to date on all critical issues that may have arisen on the day.
Qualifications
  • Experience in hospitality essential
  • Experience in events desirable
  • Team player
  • Enthusiasm and energy to deliver an exceptional experience
