The opportunity


Due to internal progression, we have an exciting new opportunity as a Risk Underwriter. This role sits within our Credit & Surety underwriting team. The role will report into the Regional Risk Underwriting Manager. In this position you will act as a Trade Credit business partner with assigned intermediaries and policy holders. You will be responsible for underwriting, monitoring and reviewing Trade Credit risk for a portfolio of clients within set underwriting guidelines.



Your new role


You will complete a variety of tasks in this role including but not limited to:

• Plan and implement risk strategies to assess and monitor credit risk across multiple portfolios and trade sectors
• Underwrite Trade Credit risk in accordance with organisational policy and underwriting standards
• Contribute to continuous quality improvement processes

About you

• Demonstrated experience or an interest in credit and/or financial risk analysis
• Knowledge of the insurance or banking/lending industries, particularly Credit Insurance would be preferable but not essential
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability with an ability to work systematically through complex matters and positively influence outcomes
• Ability to develop relationships with external and internal to maximise influence and achieve business objectives.
• Self-motivated with the ability to quickly build proficiency in new systems
