Manager, IT Operations

Division: IT - MedReleaf Australia

Job location: Coorparoo, QLD - Australia

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Employment type: temporary employment in a hybrid dynamic (12-month-fixed term agreement)

About you:

Our team is growing and we’re searching for a talented leader to plant their roots with us as a Manager, IT Operations. In this role, you will manage a robust portfolio of IT Services including network, phone systems, cloud-based infrastructure and desktop services, and support special projects. As the Manager, IT Operations your portfolio will be…

General support:

  • Report and communicate effectively to the Global Centre of Excellence (COE) IT, including the Canada region, regarding all aspects of projects, operational activities, and opportunities for improvement
  • Provide leadership and direction to support vendors and/or IT COE to resolve a wide variety of technical issues from desktops, infrastructure, to large business systems
  • Manage SOX compliance and regulatory requirements for MRA and represent IT as a strong partner for key business decisions

Local IT support and management:

  • Act as a senior IT resource and escalation point for front-line IT resources
  • Plan, manage, and optimize IT infrastructure/network in local and remote environments and coordinate with IT Project Management Office (PMO) for delivery assignments
  • Manage, coordinate, and communicate status for incidents and problems from inception to resolution, including root cause analysis to key stakeholders
  • Create and manage ownership of monthly operational scorecards and maintain corporate backup, replication and cloud (AWS / Azure) infrastructure
  • Monitor and report on network and system performance and bandwidth requirements and provide proactive solutions for improvements and issues
  • Manage local IT budget for MRA while working closely with IT COE to develop, manage, and control team expenditures against the operating and capital budgets
  • Support end user computing (laptop, desktop, mobile, etc) devices, where necessary

IT COE collaboration:

  • Work directly with IT COE to maintain and enhance global infrastructure and support model, compliance and regulatory requirements for MRA
  • Maintain and implement policies, standards, processes, and systems (such as global IT software, cloud infrastructure and supplier contracts etc.) and measure success of services through customer surveys
  • Support all service desk processes including beginning and end of service tickets

You’ll be set up for success if you have…

  • Post-secondary education, such as a Degree in Computer Science, in a related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in the IT industry with large enterprise experience ( we would also welcome an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience)
  • Robust technical experience managing large-scale projects, stakeholder relations and vendor contracting and working with call center, SD-WAN, infrastructure and network administration, MS 0365, Mobile Device MGMT Software and ticketing systems (Service Now)
  • Strong understanding of NIST, CIS Top 18, information security best practices, IT controls (SOX, PCI-DSS and GDPR), troubleshooting best practices, process automation and configuration and security group administration (Active Directory)

  • An ITIL certification with experience using Juniper and Aruba networks and working in pharmaceutical environments with large COE units
