Job Description - Inventory and Purchasing Lead



Within Western Australia, Sodexo is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and refurbishment of non-process infrastructure to clients within the mining and oil & gas sector. Sodexo plays a critical role in ensuring the resource sector can operate by providing quality Catering, Hospitality, Asset Management, Facilities Maintenance and Project Management services.

Sodexo Supply Management Team is seeking an Inventory and Purchasing Lead to join our professional and passionate team on a permanent, full-time, basis. The role is based out of our Balcatta office with ad-hoc site travel as needed to successfully deliver assigned projects. While managing a Team of Inventory and Purchasing Coordinators, this role will be responsible for ensuring procurement activities are aligned to support Sodexo’s business plan and our customer requirements, while complying with governance across client contracts, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Duties of this role include the following but not limited to:

  • Planning and organising purchasing of commodities and services
  • Providing advice, information and guidance on purchasing related matters to relevant stakeholders.
  • Providing governance in all purchasing related activities by adhering to the defined Delegation of Authority.
  • Identifying, mitigating and/or escalating risks to reporting manager.
  • Maintaining and updating purchasing records and generate reports to measure performance against business performance standards.
  • Minimising purchase orders raised by consolidating supplier data.
  • Maximising supplier rebates by appropriate purchasing processes.
  • Maintaining professional relationships with stakeholder across the business .

Qualifications

, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Experience in Procurement and Inventory Management or,

    qualifications

    in a similar field demonstrated through at least 5 years’ experience and training to an equivalent level.
  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and ownership.
  • Ability to multi-task and organize a diverse workload.
  • Agility and adaptability to change.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and best practice.
  • Strong customer focus.
