Senior Development Manager

Your new role

As the Development Manager, you will have an overall focus on the development, management, and optimisation of a portfolio of development projects. You will be accountable for managing all the activities between concept design through to Final Investment Decision, which may include PPA negotiation, tender design, selection of contractors, procurement of long-lead items, planning approvals, and negotiation of contracts. This role will also include leadership responsibilities of a team.

• Accountable for overseeing and managing project development lifecycle for a portfolio of opportunities.
• Accountable for establishing project development plans that ensure tightly controlled, successful opportunities are delivered for construction.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement proactive strategies to mitigate potential challenges throughout the project development lifecycle.
• Accountable for leading a team to develop projects to a Final Investment Decision stage.
• Lead the management and resolution of key commercial risks and opportunities including management of external and internal resources where required (e.g., Legal, engineering, etc)
• Accountable for leading the development and implementation of a thorough and efficient vendor and contractor pre-qualification process and maintaining these as live lists.

What you'll need to succeed

• University Degree with significant industry experience

• Proven negotiation skills, with a demonstrated history of success in negotiating high-value and strategic contracts

• Experienced in deal creation and contractural management

• Well versed in contract structure and language

• Understanding of regulatory and government environments within the markets

• Demonstrated capacity to understand, manage and balance risk/reward trade-offs in evaluating commercial opportunities

• Demonstrated capability to lead teams and manage complex and/or commercial issues to a clearly defined outcome

• Strong communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills

• Demonstrated leadership skills, including leadership of direct reports

• Well-developed financial, project management, planning and organisational skills
