About the opportunity:

As the anchor point of our state-based People & Culture (P&C) team, you are the conduit between the organisation’s leadership and core team, regarding BaptistCare’s Human Resources (HR) & Employment Law matters.

Working closely with the HR & Employment Relations Lead, you will develop best practice solutions, strategies and programs to deliver BaptistCare’s strategic and operational workforce objectives. You will scan the external environment and actively develop and engage your diverse professional network to identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities to evolve our HR practices.

If you are a seasoned HR professional with a collaborative and empowering leadership style, who enjoys building and embedding greater capability and confidence in relation to HR and Employee Relations best practice, then we would love to hear from you!

About you:

To be considered, you will have:• Demonstrable depth in HR/IR practice in a highly dispersed, unionised workforce• Previous experience advocating at hearings before relevant authorities, such as Fair Work Australia, when necessary• Partnered with business customers on specific ER issues including performance management, discipline, grievances, etc• Fostered positive relationships with unions, regulatory bodies, and industry associations• Championed and supported leaders to embed change initiatives• Demonstrable knowledge of contemporary workforce management principles and practices- and a proven appetite for continued development of professional practice in such arenas• A current Australian driver’s licence and commitment to occasional travel• Experienced mentor or coach, with practical understanding of culture, performance, and leadership• Proven problem-solving skills and sponsor of innovative and continuous improvement• Demonstrable experience in providing guidance and support in relation to the management of non-work-related injuries• Relevant qualification and or experience in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organisational Design or similar desirable• Further relevant qualifications in mediation, facilitation, mental health first aid, workforce planning, diversity & inclusion, organisational psychology or data and analytics desirable• Genuine alignment to BaptistCare’s vision, purpose and values.
