Social Worker

The purpose of this position is to provide activities relating to the field of social work. The aim is to assist individuals, families, and community to receive timely access to services/programs and other supports that enhance social and emotional well-being. To be successful a high level of self-management is required with the ability to work both alone and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Specific requirements of this position include but are not limited to:

Essential Criteria

• Possession of a recognised tertiary qualification in Social Work with eligibility for membership with the AASW (or respective professional body).
• Demonstrated experience or understanding of working with Aboriginal people.
• Demonstrated experience in social work.
• Must have high levels of common sense.
• Demonstrated ability to work well within a multi-team environment.
• Display a positive attitude towards change and the ability to flex to the changing needs of the community.
• Current ‘A’ class license and ability to travel throughout the South West Region.

Desirable Criteria

• Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislative requirements.
