Allocations Team Leader

Your next opportunity 

12 Month Fixed Term Contract. Based in Williamstown near Melbourne, you will be responsible for managing the supply of bitumen to Boral's Asphalt business in Victoria and includes scheduling deliveries for the Asphalt plants and spray crews to meet works programmes. You will supervise a delivery driver as well as the activities of contractors.

Your day will involve: 

• Provide planning information to bitumen suppliers regarding planned volumes, and coordinate bitumen orders.  Have product supplied early where it is an option, to reduce last minute express demands 

• Allocate bitumen deliveries to the asphalt plants and to spray crews to ensure planned budgetary objectives are achieved 

• Ensure materials are on site at the required times, problem solving and where necessary escalating issues to management 

• Demonstrate consistent leadership applying effective engagement and communication strategies 

• Respond to customer feedback, record and resolve any issues using the appropriate business systems 

• Manage bitumen deliveries to ensure no Driver Fatigue Management breaches occur 

What are we looking for?

• Experience and knowledge of the logistics or construction industry  

• Operational experience in assisting managers with complex supply chains across multiple sites 

• Customer engagement and experience at a senior level including external providers 

• An understanding of cost administration and control, business improvement, and HSEQ systems. 

• Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Powerpoint plus ability to grasp a variety of computer systems e.g. Maximo, SAP to support business operations
