Your new company will be a prominent logistics and transport company in Australia, offering comprehensive solutions for businesses. With a commitment to quality service, they provide transport, packaging services, and more. They currently have a piece of work under way and require an experienced IT Systems Trainer to develop and implement a training program as part of a key project.

Your new role

Your primary responsibility in this role will be to facilitate the smooth incorporation of a new system into the existing workflows of employees. This involves providing extensive training and support to ensure that productivity and efficiency are optimised. You will be tasked with developing a comprehensive training plan and implementing this training plan, with the aim of getting users to speed ahead of the launch date. This will require a thorough understanding of the system and its potential impact on the workflows, whilst also understanding the user-base and overall business.

Your new role also involves assessing the specific training needs of the employee groups and tailoring the training programs to meet these needs. This includes the preparation of training materials and resources. The training sessions you conduct should be engaging and hands-on, and you will be expected to maintain records of these training sessions and monitor the progress of the employees. The role will be very diverse, and you will play a crucial role in a key business project. The importance of this project will not take away from your ability to be creative and design an exciting journey for the business as part of this project.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will be proficient in utilising various Microsoft software, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Teams, as well as, authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate or Elucidat, to create and deliver exceptional training programs. Ideally, you will also have experience using survey applications like Alchemer/SurveyGizmo and SurveyMonkey. You will have extensive experience with developing and delivering training programs for medium to large sized organisations, with key experience in training up non-technical staff on new technical systems. You will have advantageous experience if you have previously held a similar role in a transport or warehousing environment.

In terms of personal qualities and skills, you will have a strong understanding of learning principles and instructional design methodologies. Experience with change management practices and methodologies will also aid in this role. You will possess the ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and preferences, as well as deliver engaging and interactive presentations. Clear and concise communication skills will be required to explain complex IT concepts in an understandable manner, and you will have patience. An understanding of mobile operating systems and applications is also preferred. This will help with training on mobile devices.
