The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our   Fielders Manufacturing team in our BlueScope Building Components business as a  Logistics Supervisor (Dayshift) at our Wangara  site. BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.

Supervising a high performing team, you will be focused on delivering exceptional service, developing strong working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders and championing a safety culture, including leading safety and productivity improvement projects. You will be required to coordinate with the scheduling teams as well as transport providers to ensure timely dispatch of customer orders.

This is a great opportunity which has the potential to provide flexible work hours to fit your lifestyle, including some family and school friendly hours. Working Monday to Friday, the shift commences at 5am to 1pm with overtime eligibility.

What will you do?

Working with a supportive team, providing high levels of service to our customers and operations, you will

  • lead the shift operations: lead the shift operations team to achieve business targets and ensure operations are within standards, having regard for safety, environment, quality and costs
  • coordinate dispatch and good movement: plan, coordinate and control the dispatch and goods movement of material
  • drive process improvement: ensure that team members are working collaboratively to drive improvement of all logistics and operational processes
  • collaborate with internal stakeholders: work closely with our internal stakeholders including our transport, production and customer service teams to coordinate the most efficient and cost-effective delivery schedules for our customers
  • build strong relationships: forge strong relationships with suppliers, customers and other key stakeholders
  • foster continuous improvement: identify improvement opportunities and foster a continuous improvement environment

More About You

Your well-developed leadership experience with a focus on safety, people and continuous improvement will support your success. You will bring:

  • previous involvement in an operational role and /or logistics environment
  • effective work planning and operational project management skills
  • demonstrated ability to meet operational requirements in accordance with standards and policy across technical, scheduling and people demands including managing labour hire resources
  • interpersonal skills, effective communications, coaching, influencing skills and decision-making are required and can be developed in the role
  • a customer-centric approach with a strong commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience
  • excellent analytical skills with strong capability to learn new systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel)
  • a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing while caring for others
