Primary objective The Manager Asset Information Systems takes a strategic focus and is responsible for the governance, security, management, validation, planning, project development and enhancement of the Department’s Transport and Civil Services Asset Management Systems including ASNEX, Road Reporting, Geographic Information System (GIS) and other related IT systems and public facing platforms. Context statement The Manager Asset Information Systems is the senior source of advice within the Division on strategies, actions, policy development and procedures relating to Asset Management System, asset data analysis and reporting. The role provides leadership and manages the Unit to deliver high quality asset system and information support services. Key duties and responsibilities 1. Maintenance of asset data systems and workflows to support evidence based asset planning and operational decision making. 2. Lead the design and development of asset system reports and data analytics and asset data reporting. 3. Identify asset data requirements and develop systems and processes to support changing business needs. 4. Provide expert advice and services relating to the asset management systems including stakeholder engagement, user training and promotion in the use of asset systems. 5. Take the lead on projects for improvements to asset related IT systems that support the Division’s reporting capability, including public facing platforms. 6. Manage the Asset Information System work unit and project work teams including resource management, and staff and team development. 7. Represent the Department in Austroads and other industry working groups in Asset Information, Asset Digitalisation and Geospatial areas. Selection criteria Essential 1. Demonstrated experience in civil infrastructure asset data systems management, data analytics, and reporting. 2. Expert knowledge in spatial data analysis and business intelligence reporting. 3. High level knowledge of road and transport asset data standards, policies, and asset management data requirements. 4. High level knowledge and understanding of the broad range of technology solutions, project management methodologies and governance relating to public sector infrastructure asset management and service delivery. 5. Experience in proactively managing client needs and expectations, and establishing strong customer focussed working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. 6. High level communication, change management and negotiation skills.
