Job Description - Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Finance Manager to join our Melbourne team and oversee all financial aspects of the MF Freight business (subsidiary of Ofload). The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, process-improvement driven, analytical, and possess strong leadership skills. As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for month-end tasks, forecasting, variance analysis, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and various reporting activities. This role requires a proactive approach to financial management and the ability to drive strategic decision-making as well as drive changes related to the recent acquisition of this business by Ofload.

What you'll do:

  • Manage month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Work with the Finance HQ team in Sydney to ensure processes and procedures are compliant with group standards and policies.
  • Actively participate in Post Merger Integration (PMI) activities, working closely with stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of finance processes and systems into Ofload.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Conduct top line analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide strategic insights into the business
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights for financial analysis.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize financial performance.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or CA certification is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, preferably in larger organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Experience with ERP systems
