Job Description - Logistics support officer

  • $91,702 - $104,753 + up to 15.4% superannuation

The Role
Integrated Logistics Support helps design the logistic support system for major defence platforms. This role governs and assures logistic engineering and supply support, of contractor work to Defence. Specifically, this is a unique opportunity to apply these skills to the Collins Class Submarine (CCSM) Life of Type Extension (LOTE) Project.


In supporting the CCSM LOTE project, you will be required to learn and seek information on policy, logistic Support Analysis and Integrated Logistic Support. As your knowledge of Integrated Logistic Support develops you will provide input and advice within the ILS team to assist in project decisions. You will be required to attend meetings in regards to contractor deliverables and project decisions using this to assist in the governance of contractor deliverables. The role will require engagement with stakeholders to communicate project decisions.



About our Team
The Collins Submarine Program within the National Shipbuilding Sustainment Group (NSSG) is responsible for the maintenance and programmed upgrade of Australia’s Collins Class submarines. The Program works in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy and Industry to deliver the strategic submarine capability to the nation.

Our Ideal Candidate
ILS covers two areas; logistics engineering and supply support. The ideal candidate will have some technical, operator or maintenance experience; this ensures both engineering and supply support aspects are covered.


Candidate will be required to govern and assure contractor deliverables/documents, to ensure the contractor design of logistics support system will meet the requirements of Defence. You must be able to learn and seek information on Defence policy, Integrated Logistic Support and Logistic Support Analysis autonomously.


Prior knowledge of Defence logistics is desirable, however not essential, as on the job training will be provided. The candidate should have a background within a logistic or supply chain role; this experience will help diversify the ILS team to cover all aspects relating to ILS.
