Job Description - Senior business analyst

About The Role. The Senior Business Analyst in our Supply Chain Technology team drives the scoping, design and analysis efforts through requirement gathering and elaboration to support the delivery of key technology projects within the Bunnings Supply Chain. This role will work within the engineering squads across our Technology, Digital and Data & Analytics teams, performing a hands-on role in developing and documenting business requirements, user stories and business scenarios through close liaison with business stakeholders, product owners, SMEs, and engineering teams. The Senior Business Analyst will also provide guidance and coaching to other Business Analysts supporting growth of knowledge arounds process, products and relationship building with stakeholders. Additionally, the Senior Business Analyst will be involved in providing support within their team throughout the SDLC, liaising with business stakeholders to provide clarifications and advice on development, defects, risks, and enhancements as well as ensuring coverage across user stories is clear and achievable. What’s Involved.

  • Establish a deep understanding of the business operating model and elicit requirements, that support the delivery of technology solutions.
  • Produce detailed and comprehensive business requirements and/or user story documentation
  • Provide assistance to engineering teams to clarify business requirements and facilitate the resolution of issues.
  • Triage and assistance in clarification and remediation of defects
  • Support others through risk management and escalations
  • Contribute to daily stand ups, backlog refinement and planning
  • Foster good working relationships with other team members, product owners, SME’s, engineers and the wider business.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement, within the Technology team
Who We're Looking For. Our ideal candidate will come with strong experience within a Business Analyst (or similar role) with a preference for exposure to the Retail and Supply Chain industries such as warehousing & logistics, transport and customer order fulfilment. You will have first class communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to articulate well and adapt to your target audience. Whilst this role does not have direct reports, we are seeking an individual who enjoys sharing knowledge with mentoring, coaching & guidance abilities. You’ll Need
  • Tertiary qualification preferred in related field
  • Proven (3 - 5+ years) Business Analysis experience
  • Strong experience and knowledge in Agile practices and ways of working
  • Strong commercial business understanding
  • Experience in using Business Tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, Miro
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Strong technical and business QA analysis skills
  • Good development, QA, and environment process knowledge
  • Ability to liaise with Business, Technical and QA areas comfortably working closely with Product Owners, SME’s, and stakeholders
  • A positive attitude and ability to promote the Analysis function to other team members.
