Job Description - Business Development Manager

About us:

MineARC Systems is the global leader in controlled environments and safety technologies for the underground mining, tunnelling, chemical processing, disaster relief and biotechnology industries. We specialise in the manufacture and supply of emergency refuge chambers, safe havens, disaster shelters and plant grow chambers, as well as a range of electronic equipment, remote monitoring, tracking and communications technologies that allow full integration in heavy industrial applications.

Based in our Perth Head Office, an opportunity for a dedicated Business Development Manager to drive expansion in MineARC System’s core product, Refuge Chambers across the Australasia region. MineSAFE Refuge Chambers are sealed, secure, accessible rooms that preserve life through the monitoring and management of essential gas levels for underground mining. CO2 and CO Scrubber technology monitors and eliminates toxic fumes for an extended period to allow the safe extraction of personnel from danger. Refuge chambers are commonly available as permanent and semi-permanent chambers, providing a safe ‘go-to’ area for personnel during an emergency. These chambers are available worldwide so the successful candidate would need strong sales acumen and have a passion for safety and innovation.

The role:

Reporting to the Sales Manager, will be responsible for:

  • Proactively prospecting and securing new business opportunities within the Australasian market.
  • Maintaining and building customer relationships.
  • Achieving budgeted sales.
  • Processing new sales leads including preparing and sending quotes and quote follow up.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of sale with the client – payment terms, freight and currency.
  • Updating the company’s CRM.
  • Travelling when required for commissioning, training, presentations, expos and tradeshows.
  • Ensuring that refuge chambers sold are commissioned and serviced in accordance with MineARC’s specification.
  • Developing the yearly strategic plan for the region.
  • Present sales results and opportunities to Management during quarterly consultations.
  • Motivate, train and mentor agents and distributors.
  • Entertaining clients when required and maintaining and building customer relationships.
  • Providing excellent customer service including giving advice and technical information to customers on the company’s products.
  • Training clients on the operation and servicing of refuge chambers.

About you:

  • Experience in selling and supplying capital equipment to mining, tunnelling or petrochemical companies and contractors would be highly desirable.
  • Proven ability in achieving sales budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to source and maintain customer accounts.
  • Ability to present to all levels within an organisation including Senior Management.
  • Technical aptitude and an understanding of the underground mining industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to source and maintain customer accounts.
  • Ability to present at seminars, conferences and corporate functions.
  • Self-motivated and career focused.
  • A Bachelor of Engineering, Business or Commerce would be highly regarded.
  • Ability to travel both internally and nationally.
  • Strong experience in the MS Suite of programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
