Seeking an experienced mechanical maintenance tradesperson for a 6-12 month temporary position Your new company
Our client is a large public authority, responsible for the management of cemeteries across the Perth Metro area.
Your new role
As the mechanical maintenance tradesperson, you will be required to work within the fleet and plant team, to provide maintenance operations across different sites in the Perth metro area. Your role will include, but is not limited to, the following duties:
- Assist with the maintenance of vehicles, plant and equipment
- Liaise with external contractors and train staff in the proper use of vehicles, plant and equipment
- Undertake plant and equipment condition reporting and inventory audits including portable and attractive assets on a weekly/monthly basis and conducts an annual stocktake.
- Oversee servicing of equipment, load testing, plant & equipment maintenance and repair scheduling
- Oversee the asset management data entry.
- Oversee the purchasing and disposal of oil and minor assets as well as any other items as directed, and undertakes credit card asset coding.
- Attend to work orders and job requests and identify and report maintenance, warranty issues and risks.
- Coordinate and liaise with manufacturers to drop off and pick up equipment as required.
What you'll need to succeed
- A relevant mechanical trade qualification with experience of machinery operation and maintenance experience
- Sound decision and problem-solving ability. (Think through complexity)
- Ability to exercise appropriate initiative and work with minimal supervision.
- The ability to work in a team environment in a constructive and flexible manner
- Sound interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively with people and customers at all levels and from different ethnic backgrounds to resolve issues.
- A current Australian Class C licence is essential, MH licence if desirable.
- A current police clearance - or willing to obtain
