The Opportunity

This role presents as a fantastic opportunity for an accounts payable professional who is looking to take the next step in their career and work within an established team environment. Our client is a successful food manufacturer with a reputation for being at the forefront of their industry. The role is based in their Head Office in Melbourne’s outer South-East suburbs. 

The Challenge

Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

• Matching, coding, and processing a volume of approximately 30-50 invoices daily
• Performing three-way matching to ensure consistency and accuracy
• Ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained prior to invoice processing 
• Scheduling payment runs and completing supplier statement reconciliations
• Supporting month-end processes and ensuring AP close deadlines are met
• Engaging in problem-solving to resolve invoice discrepancies
• Managing accounts payable inboxes, effectively addressing vendor inquiries
• Liaising effectively with internal teams, including marketing and sales, and partnering with the offshore accounts payable team
• Assisting with relevant ad hoc projects

The Expertise

The successful applicant will possess the following: 

• Experience within an accounts payable position, familiarity with three-way matching and payment run preparation is advantageous 
• A proven aptitude for problem-solving and a high level of attention to detail
• Proficiency with a widely used ERP system such as Business Central, SAP, Oracle 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Availability to work on-site in Melbourne’s South-East suburbs
