The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Business Development Advisor to join our Energy Solutions team in Perth CBD office on a Permanent Full Time basis.
Reporting to the Head of Business Development, you will be supporting the team with the exciting and dynamic project development of power infrastructure opportunities, securing new capital investments, focused on renewable and thermal generation in the resource industry.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers to understand their energy needs
Conduct market research to identify potential customers and business opportunities within the power generation sector; this may involve attending industry events and conferences to a lesser extent than a Business Development Manager (BDM)
Support the creation of power solutions by collaborating with various stakeholders, coordinate generation of engineering concepts, cost estimates, and construction schedules in collaboration with the Infrastructure Delivery team to inform commercial offers
Assist the BD team in developing and finalising proposals and tenders for qualified leads; this may involve tasks like data gathering, technical research, and content creation; contribute to the development of well-formulated proposals and investment opportunities for presentation to relevant parties
Develop compelling bid strategies, write and edit bid proposals to ensure they are clear, concise, and persuasive
Assist BDMs in building and maintaining client relationships. This could involve scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, and following up on communication
Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activity in the power generation sector, providing insights to the BDM team
Your background
A tertiary qualification in engineering, business, law or a relevant technical discipline
Strong understanding of the power generation market fundamentals (traditional and renewable sources may vary depending on the company)
An inquisitive nature, an inbuilt business acumen for seeking value and a deal origination mind set, commercial acumen and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
Strong stakeholder management skills both internally and externally, proven negotiation skills with a win-win mind set
