What We Are Looking For About the Team Working within a small team of 5 and based at Rheinmetall’s offices at the Redbank facility (MILVEHCOE) in Brisbane. You will be responsible for driving product management and support the MAN truck sales & after sales support through the importer Penske commercial vehicles Australia & New Zealand. About The Role Reporting directly to the General Manager MAN truck Sales & Support, the Product Manager is responsible for the product management, technical sales support and homologation for trucks to achieve key objectives and targets. As the Product Manager, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Responsibility for the product management, technical sales support and homologation for trucks to achieve objectives and targets;
  • Definition of country specific product strategies and body builder strategies;
  • Sales support and technical guidance to the operational sales teams of the MAN sales organisations in the focus markets of the region, presentations to customers and associations;
  • Technical support and coordination of orders, processing of project requests from the markets in the region;
  • Vehicle configuration according to customer needs and feasibility, considering application, body type, market aspects as well as topographic and climatic conditions;
  • Support and training of local sales and product engineers;
  • Contact and cooperation in sales support function with nationally and internationally active manufacturers of bodybuilder (design guidelines, drawings, descriptions);
  • Collection of offers of suitable bodybuilder and assessment and selection for technology, quality and price;
  • Support homologation activities;
  • Collect and provide technical and market data and maintain data base;
  • Active support for MAN sales training activities;
  • Recording and monitoring of regional and sectoral distribution requirements for product adjustment measures, as well as general specifications for MAN; and
  • Active Support of the whole sales force of the Importer in order to configure the suitable MAN Products for the market needs.
What Qualifications You Should Have What are we looking for? Rheinmetall seeks applicants who exemplify our Company’s values of Safety, Partnering, Openness, Respect and Trust .   • Hold tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Automotive;
  • Extensive experience in the commercial vehicle sector, with a profound knowledge of MAN products and processes to support the importer accordingly;
  • Extensive experience in product management, technical sales, homologation and Body Builder support, support for PCV modification center
  • Demonstrated IT & configuration management experience to support the configuration of MAN products;
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal;
  • Drive decision making, with a strong focus on reaching the desired outcomes efficiently and effectively;
  • Ability to work as part of a small dedicated team or independently;
  • Current heavy vehicle driver’s license; and
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively across Australia and New Zealand.
