Job Description - Sales Representative

OBJECTIVES/ KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:

Business objectives

  • Maximise sales of Savour and Grace products
  • Efficiently develop and maintain strong relationships with customers (new and existing) in the Melbourne metropolitan region, including scheduling regular in-person visits and phone conversations
  • Share advanced product expertise with customers
  • Engage in product and supplier training sessions
  • Introduce new products and suppliers to customers
  • Input orders in a timely manner to ensure distribution logistics run smoothly
  • Procure and follow up new customer leads, including via cold calls
  • Communication with accounts department regarding customer payments and accounts
  • Communicate with team about stock availability and delivery driver movements
  • Problem-solve issues in a transparent and timely manner in collaboration with relevant team members, including communicating out-of-stock items, order amendments, and invoice management
  • Frequently review and contribute to shared documents 
  • Maximise efficiency of order processes
  • Share information relevant to business forward planning with appropriate colleagues 
  • Plan and enact sales strategies
  • Follow and interpret market trends
  • Report to Victorian sales manager

  • Foster a respectful, positive, collaborative, and high-functioning workplace environment 
  • Communicate clearly, calmly, and effectively across Savour and Grace teams to provide high-level customer service to food professionals
  • Contribute to the celebration of food culture, traditions, and knowledge at the heart of Savour and Grace

  • Share knowledge, experience and strategies with team members

  • Implement new systems as developed within sales team

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Required

  • Good literacy, numeracy, and computer skills
  • Current driver’s licence and safe driving record

Advantageous

  • Experience in a sales role
  • Experience working with food
  • Knowledge of the Melbourne food industry and different demographics

The position requires you to operate a small truck which customers may use to see our products and assist you with selling.  There will be some light manual labour involved.

We will provide you with the appropriate license and training to operate this vehicle.

  • Key sales targets met and ideally exceeded
  • Smooth, efficient service delivery with minimal errors
  • Customers receive high-quality product and supplier information
  • Customers are constantly exposed to new products and suppliers
  • Mistakes are managed with clear communication and timely resolution
  • Team environment is positive, respectful, and cohesive

  • CEO and Director set targets tied to monthly and yearly budget 
  • Report directly to Victorian sales manager
