Job Description - Senior Verification and Validation Engineer

The Role

Based in our Brisbane office we are currently seeking a talented Senior Verification and Validation Engineer to join our team. This role will work within a collaborative team of engineers from multiple disciplines to plan and lead the execution of the verification and validation (V&V) activities for Hypersonix vehicles. While the primary focus of the role is V&V, it will also include other systems engineering activities such as requirements development & maintenance, system safety and reliability, and support to certification activities.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain the requirements and verification baselines for engineering projects.
  • Requirements development and management.
  • Integration and test planning and execution.
  • Development and execution of test plans and procedures.
  • Ownership of the certification process and engineering activities to achieve regulator acceptance of Hypersonix vehicles, support equipment and procedures.
  • Lead the planning and execution of integration and test activities for hypersonic vehicles and support equipment.
  • Understand the certification requirements for vehicles and take responsibility for ensuring vehicle compliance.
  • Support the completion of specialty engineering activities (safety, reliability, failure analysis, etc) with the use of internal and external resources.
  • Line management responsibilities including day to day work activities, performance reviews, recruitment and motivate and drive a team that are solving complex engineering challenges every day.

To be successful in this role you will also need:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (aerospace, mechanical, electrical, etc).
  • 5 years industry experience in an engineering role (at least 3 in systems engineering).
  • Experience in planning and conducting integration and test activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete assigned systems engineering tasks with minimal supervision and guidance.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style.
  • Resilience in dealing with challenges and ability to drive results in a complex environment.
  • Logical approach to complex technical issues and problem-solving.

Desirable requirements

  • Prior experience in a Lead Engineer role - demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams.
  • Experience operating in a sector with strong regulatory governance – for example defence, aerospace, medical or transport.
  • Demonstrated experience (professional or personal) in development, testing or operation of avionics or electrical and electro-mechanical systems. For example, small-scale UAV development or robotics projects.
  • Experience with data analysis and budget management.
  • Demonstrated experience with engineering tools for requirements management, configuration management, quality management and manufacturing systems.
  • Supplementary requirements
  • Driver's License.
  • Background checks, including Australian National Police clearance check.
