About the role

Your primary focus areas will be to ensure that the team’s key objectives are delivered.  To ensure the team’s key objectives are delivered with integrity and professionalism.

Duties

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Monitor the safe operation for the specific area of operation in the Reel Store
• Conduct the required pre checks for material handling equipment prior to commencement
• Report any issues arising from the pre checks to the shift manager/supervisor
• Carry out required routine maintenance tasks within the scheduled dates
• Monitor production’s needs to ensure product is supplied as required and within specification
• Perform all tasks efficiently in accordance with site/company procedures
• Monitor and take corrective action regarding area product quality.
• Train and coach Casual Labour and other Reel Store Operators in competency area.
• Control the operational area in accordance with the distribution plan for area of operation in the Reel Store
• Assist in other areas of operations as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of operational area and entire process.
• Contribute with new ideas to improve results of the area or the Reel Store.
• Contribute to excellent environmental performance against regulatory and voluntary conditions.
• Carry out all prestart up checks and inspections as required prior to the commencement of shift
• Work as part of operations team and assist in development of standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Assist with the supervision of the area of operation within the Reel store.
• Assist in development of a continuous improvement culture.

What you will bring to the team

• Current drivers’ license
• Current forklift license (High Risk Work license)
• As part of this role manual handling, ability to work in hot/humid conditions and being physically fit, is essential for the requirements of this role. 
• Experience driving a Grab forklift or equivalent in an industrial environment. - desirable
• Ability to work as directed and unsupervised.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to respond to challenges as they arise. "think on your feet"
