About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career as a 1st Year Apprentice Cabinet Maker with ThorCab Joinery, located in Pakenham, VIC. As a full-time apprentice, you will work closely with experienced cabinet makers to learn the trade and develop the skills needed to become a highly skilled and qualified cabinet maker.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting experienced cabinet makers with all aspects of cabinet and joinery manufacturing
• Safely operating a variety of hand and power tools used in cabinet making
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans
• Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling components to create cabinets, furniture, and other joinery items
• Finishing and preparing surfaces for painting, staining, or other treatments
• Undertaking on-the-job training and attending off-site training to gain your formal cabinet making qualification

• Keen interest and passion for working with your hands and creating high-quality joinery items
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision
• Good basic mathematical skills for measuring and calculating dimensions
• Willingness to learn and follow all safety protocols in the workshop
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to completing your apprenticeship
